I saw a post indicating it was on December 1 at Downriver. Not sure where it was.

I completely dumped Facebook over a year ago.

I do NOT trust Mark Zukerberg as far as I can throw him!

FB is a clever tool for the IRS - FBI - CIA and other rogue groups with radical agendas to track people's everyday movements and actions.

Good to know but FB is a very liberal faction that has banned Alex Jones just recently.

They censor any conservative voice blocking their 1st Amendment rights.

As was posted above David, the date is December 1st.
Rules have not been posted but probably not a lot different from last year.
Vintage and modern, all with Shinoda bodies.
I'll post the rules soon as Eliot posts them.

Found them posted by Eliot yesterday.

So unlimited is pretty easy (being run on the king). You can use any approved motor for retro can am or retro f1. That means your hawks, fk's, etc...It will be a 28/8 gear or a 27/8, as I know some people prefer that on the king. The car must be at least 100 grams, be a brass chassis construction, although inline, angle wind, and side wind are all allowed. Spoilers will be limited to what is legal in retro can am, and the ground clearance is also the same as retro can am (I believe thats a .790 tire thats needed). Thats the quick run down on unlimited. You can run any brass chassis design that you want with a shinoda body.

Period correct (run on the hill climb), well everything must be 1968 or earlier. It is in the spirit of when the original Shinodas were being raced. It can be an over the counter period correct rtr chassis, a scratch built, but it must apply to the rules of the time. The axle must be 1/8th, no 3/32nd axles are allowed. Bearings are allowed, and a newer tire is allowed (since not everyone can find a period correct wheel/tire combo, so I get that). Guide flags are supposed to be period, but if you can't find one, than the short parma guide flags are ok. Motors are anything goes as long as its period correct. You can run any style wiring that you want, and there is no set ground clearance. No additional downforce is allowed.

If you have further questions, I will try to update the posters I had from last year for rules, but I can be reached via messaging here, and I can look at pictures of the cars in advance to say if it passes.

If it is a proxy car, than it must be to me, two weeks in advance (the car owner pays shipping back).

Is it true that "anglewinders" are now allowed???

That goes against the spirit of a "Shinoda Reunion" as I have NEVER seen a Shinoda from back-in-the-day that was an anglewinder!

Only in "Unlimited" class apparently.

Not allowed in "Period Correct"!

Does anyone know the Braid Depth (recess) on the King?

Is there a gear rule?

Asked and the braid's were replaced on the Hillclimb just a month ago.
That means they are near flush or .010 or less.

Gears are not limited on vintage.

I understand you asked about running on the King. But that is the unlimited class and gear ratio is clearly stated above at 8/28 or 8/27.

Yes 'unlimited'.

Asking about the braid depth on the King.

Gear rule,

- Is it spec 8/28 - 8/27?  It sounded like a suggested ratio.

- Are retro anglewinders required to run 48 pitch gears?

Thanks,

Nick (asking for dad)

That is correct, Retro should only use 48 pitch gears.
In fact, Eliott asks that all parts used be vintage where possible including the arm, guide, wheels etc.
The only allowance is fresh rubber may be used on the drive wheels.

I will ask about braid depth on the King.

Elliot got back to me super fast!  Both tracks were re-braided.  So 10 thou is his response.
Hope that helps anyone in the unlimited class.

Also, Unlimited class allows a 1/2" rear spoiler.
Retro DOES NOT!

When you say "Retro" are you referring to the  "Period Correct"  class?

Are anglewinders allowed ONLY in Unlimited? If allowed in Period Correct then that is contrary to what was stated earlier.

It is now TWO months until the event and are RULES still be formulated?
