Question about mounting an LMP body for a flat track.

1. Should the body be mounted forward, middle, or rearward on a JK flexi chassis?

2. Should the body be mounted as low as possible on the chassis?

Regards,

1.) Try each body position  on your particular track & see with which position your car is the fastest. I would tend to think rearward, but definitely track-test.

2.) Yes.

Disclaimer: I haven't had a flat track to run on since 2010.

When you say low, do you mean lower than the1 5/8 min? Just how high do you mount it in the back?

Depends on the track.
A shorter tighter twistier technical track, I would mount with the tail as high as possible.
Long tracks with long straights, lower is faster.
Also depends which body...

I recently tested a variety of different LMP bodies using same chassis
Amazing the difference, and how some bodies perform better than others on different lanes
Some are more stable but not as fast, others are faster but deslot more especially on high speed corners under power.
Test and test...only way to find out. I could repeat at a different track and get a different result.

Jk?
No, don’t rate it. Better bodies have surpassed it

If you deslot more under power in a corner it may mean that with the body in that position you have too much grip.

I’ve found that with the BPA Lola body (which seems to be the fastest at our Wellington track) I had to move it forward a bit to get it low enough to clear the ps4002fk at the back
