Phil,

How do I get my license, and will it be reciprocal in Pennsylvania?

Steve... 1st there's a 14-day waiting period... then you must pass a straw-safety test... then you must take a course in concealed straw-use...I think it's 16 hours long... then the Sheriff of the county you reside in must approve your license... then...

In grade school, we'd use the milk straws to blow spitballs up on the ceiling where they stuck. After a couple hours, the spitballs would dry & fall down, but by that time, it was another class in the room who got the blame for throwing spitballs. :laugh2:

The clock on the wall was the target for spitballs for us. The celotex ceiling tiles were usually filled with pencils stuck there. We

also found pea shooters to be a lot of fun. As for plastic soda straws, I think in Chicago you have to sign an affidavit promising

not to throw it in the lake if you want to get one. If you get caught doing it, they hang you by your feet and dunk you five times

in the Chicago River.

Isn't that cruel and unusual punishment?

Not in Chicago. You only get off light when you murder someone.

We used green choke cherries with pea shooters in the spring. They were way cheaper than dried peas, but hurt just as much when you got hit by them. :laugh2:

I remember buying a bag of peas with straws at a neighborhood store. I must've been 10 or 12. One day I was riding my bike after buying a bag and was shooting peas at cars going by. One person in a 56 Chevy slammed his brakes made a U-turn. I turned around and headed back to the store. I went inside the store and asked the store clerk if he would help me and ran behind the counter. After getting yelled at by the car owner about a new paint job, he left. Still shaking it took me a while to leave the store. Turns out he lived across the street a couple of houses down from our house.
