Is there still room for drivers without teams?

I just called Marcus and he said yes.

In order to make more teams, and room for more drivers, he said he is going to do a little bit of rearranging of current team members because he has one or more teams with multiple cars prep'ed.

If a team wants to only sacrifice 1 chassis to the slot gods, can we switch motors and have a couple minutes to work on the car and run the same car all 6 hrs?

Also will the Hi Speed nascar bodies be legal? Will motors be broken in before hand or we do it race day?

Looks like we may have some news on another team later today  :)

Marcus just called me.  He's on the road right now and can't reply to your post but asked me to.

He said the GTP cars will be teched and impounded at the same time as the NASCAR is teched.  However, he said if you need a second chassis, he can loan you one.

You can call him (phone is in OP) if you want more details.

Regarding bodies, any body that has been in common production, past or present, is legal.

He said all motors will be broken in before raceday.

I would like to see who will be on this team. A team like this formed last minute for another endurance race and it had all ringers on it with the same racer posting about this one. 😉

I dont see the problem with Biscuit picking his own team. Everybody had a good time at that other enduro, and thats what matters.

DZ is just jealous of the JAR sponsorship we might be picking up for the race  :D

That is cool. Looks like Biscuit, You and I can be on a team. I can supply the GTP car. 😁 I'm not much of a flexi racer anymore so I'm definitely a lower tier driver. 😉

I do remember one racer not having a good time at the other endurance race. 😁76927939ad6134c1b5b0fa472803ca4b.png

There was a really good racer up at the local track last night picking up bodies for the enduro. He said he got paired up with another good racer, and they have a local ringer for a third. Looks like there is a super team in the mix. The rest of us are going to have to be on our game to keep up.

I heard from a good racer that put a team together last minute that he has all ringers on his super team. 😉

Two of their top tier racers both finished on two race podiums and one finished on all three at the last Big race against top tier competition. One of them set two TQ records also .😁 The lower tier racer on their super team finished first in a B-main race. Then won a C-main, B-main and moved up to the A-main with the top tier racers in another race. hqdefault.jpg
So this super team is obviously loaded with ringers!💯😉

This same super team won the last endurance race by a landslide also!💯

Teams better bring their A-game in hopes to be somewhat competitive.😁

Sounds like there will be some stout teams there. I'm bringing a couple P1 rookies as my partners, one of them only possesses a couple used gears and a pack of braid in his slot box. I'm afraid we may be bringing a knife to a gun fight but we will see how it goes!!

Unless DZ and Brian have a potato for their third member theyre the team to beat. Ive heard the local racers are fast, so theres probably a few local teams up there as well. It looks like it will be a good race with a full field of cars.

Here are the results of the 6-hour enduro.
At the end, after six hours of racing, only 5 laps separated 1st and 2nd place.

1) 5116 laps:  Team J.A.R.
2) 5111 laps:  Tres Amigos
3) 5010 laps:  Team P-1
4) 4977 laps:  Team CARB
5) 3853 laps:  Eau Gallie Xpress
6) 3189 laps:  Old School

These were the team members.
Team J.A.R.:  Mike "Biscuit" Bresett, Aaron Rothstein, Kyle Hall
Tres Amigos:  Terry Tawney, Bob Herzog, Tracey Dickinson
Team P-1:  Marcus Ramos, Brandon Peters, Jay Guard
Team CARB:  Bill Bornman, Carl Peters, Ralph Josey
Eau Gallie Xpress:  Matt Boman, Bob Rondinone, Tem Raskin
Old School:  Brian Ambrose, Jon Cook, Danny "DZ" Zona

All teams had to deal with various issues, such as motors, gears and chassis, bodies and guide flag damage.
I race directed and don't know much about which teams had to deal with what issues.
If any of the drivers in the race would care to post about the issues that they and others were faced with, please do.

As far as motors go, I believe the 1st place team had a Hawk Retro fail and, as far as I know, no other team had to replace an HR or a Phoenix.

Below is an image of the race results.  There are three rows of data per team.  Heats were 15 minutes.  The first row are the first eight heats, which was NASCAR.
The second row was the same car with an LMP body (and pans could be changed but I don't know If any team went to different pans).
The third row is the eight GTP heats (a separate car with a Phoenix motor).

The heavy borders around a lap time means the fastest lap in that lane.

Fastest lap corrections

I just checked for errors (caused by riders) and found Team CARB segments #2 was actually 4.022 (instead of 3.409) and #18 was actually 3.412 (instead of 3.235).

After making those corrections, of all the teams, Ralph of Team CARB still had fastest lap in green at 3.412.

5 laps separating first and second when an average ball park lap is less than 4 seconds. Pretty amazing.

What a crazy but cool race.

From what I saw happening, I assume it was body damage that took your team's GTP car out of the race.  I think the Renegade bodies are available in .005, .007 and .010 thickness.  For future reference, would you recommend .010 bodies for enduros?

I'm not sure on the thickness of the body we used. I would use at least .007 though for an enduro after what I witnessed. Everybody had some type of body problem in gtp.

Thanks for the reply Danny.
_________________________________________

As I mentioned above, I, for one, wouldn't mind hearing some of the driver's stories about what they had to deal with throughout the day.

I know that Eau Gallie Xpress had to deal with an over-reactive race director (that would be me).

Matt Boman was driving and Bob Rondinone came over and took his place.  The team's car kept sucking the body up on the rear wheels.  The car could be driven while the body was sucked up, but was a condition that they certainly wanted to remedy.

Well, Bob didn't know where things were in Matt's pit box (such as scissors, tape, etc.), and those things needed to be gathered together in preparation to fix the car as quickly as possible.  So that's why Bob temporarily took Matt's place driving.

I was close enough to them to understand why they were doing what they did, but after the heat was over, I mentioned that substituting drivers seemed to be a violation of the rules because of the "driving for a minimum of two heats per class" rule.

As expected, they, especially Matt, found it highly irritating for me to object to what they did.  In hindsight I agree and I apologize.  I realize that I shouldn't have objected to what they did because it was in no way an attempt to better their position in the race.

On the up side, Bob did pause on his way out at the end of the day to tell me "good job" regarding race directing.  Bob routinely race directs at TheRaceway.Biz in Melbourne.

In the future, maybe confrontations regarding rules interpretation, could be avoided if I put one of these on top of the race director's stand.
