This past week I found out that Eau Gallie Express's Phoenix motor failed because the comm came apart, and not only Team J.A.R., but several other team's HR motors didn't last the four hours of NASCAR/LMP racing.

When I was at TheRaceway.Biz in Melbourne this past Saturday, I checked the voltage in all lanes at several places on the track.  One lane at a time with about a three amp load, the average voltage was about 12.85.  At P-1, using the same load, the average voltage is about 13.75 -- almost a volt more than TRB.

When several cars are running at the same time, that voltage difference at TRB and P-1 could be even greater.

From what I've heard, most of the HR motors lasted the four hours of the GRRR Enduro earlier this year and it seems to make sense that the lower voltage could have been a factor.
