Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap

Interesting, to say the least.

Was that kit sold in the U.S.? I know I looked for a model of it, to display with the model of the Bluebird LSR car.

Fairly obscure but probably was imported by someone like Polk's.

Speaking of the LSR and the boat, here are both in one kit with Jetex motor included, possibly a promotional item for BP.

Wow! Jetex powered! We used to power those pseudo-LSR cars with Estes rockets. I think my Bluebird car model was by Aurora, but I wouldn't stake my life on it. I know Hawk had it in 1/32.

Hi Dave,

Here are a couple of Hawks, have several Jetex and/or CO2 powered kits, mostly 1950s, early 1960s wood or vacuum form, not sure which Aurora you may have had.

Don't remember for sure if it was Aurora. I still had it, built up, until maybe 15 years ago. I only kept it because I had found a model of a jet that included an engine. It wasn't exactly 1/25, but I was going to use it anyway to do a full interior. I had a phantom drawing of the car I had picked up somewhere. Might still have that. But I junked the car when I cleared out my old car models (needed the shelf space for trains).
