I'm reworking my driver's panel and am looking for a little advice concerning what is the most common hook-up order for the controllers starting from the left.

I realize there's not a standard per se but I'll probably go along with what the majority posts.

Red-black-white is used on every track in the Retro East rotation, including Port Jeff's Gerding King.

Back in the day it was black-white-red... left to right...

Considering both white and red go to your power source, putting black in the middle would be a little extra precaution against accidental shorting out.

It's probably an anomaly -- but BPR has Red  Black White on one track--and Red White Black on the other!!!  :shok:  :dash2:

I always thought it was "Red, Black, White," from the left, and that's how I set up both of my tracks.

Wow, I guess I shouldn't have posted without being at the raceway.

While Red, Black, White is an earworm for me, I should have realized hooking to Red and Black, only, wouldn't turn on the controller pilot light.

Both my tracks are Red, White, Black.

There are only six Left-to-Right combinations possible.

In CO, there are for tracks we have used in the RMRRA. SCS&H in Longmont was RWB, Casper, WY, is BWR, Greely, CO, was WBR, Pueblo, CO, is BRW so we have four of the six combinations.

Post #2 shows the east coast uses RBW. That leaves only one combination, BWR, unclaimed (anyone want to be the first?).

Post #4 has some technical merit (may prevent some shorting out) as does Mike's quoted post considering the Third Eye.

I would bet $5 (but no more) that Tom Thumb matches the Casper, WY, track as it is an original, nice "survivor" condition American Orange with original hook-up plates.

I have my common tracks written down on my box. If I remember, I try to set my Controller Buddy before leaving home. The threads on the plastic nuts are wearing out!

Jay, aren't you glad you asked? Has any of this helped at all?

Keep your $5, AJ. Ours is the standard Black (left), White (center), Red (right).

As far as I know all American Raceways track were the same.

Thanks for the 'helpful'  :D info, guys.

I decided to go with the classic American Raceways order of black, white, red, as my track is similar to an AMR orange track.
