Most all of the 'Redline Rebuild' time-lapse videos on YouTube are interesting but this one is especially so, as it's rare to see this much internal detail on a 11,000 HP top fuel dragster motor. Note that DSR has had them blur the inlet side of the blower; they must be doing something innovative in that area.

I think they only get four or five runs on a motor before have to rebuild it again. I hate to think what the cost of the needed parts to build this engine might be.

Hagerty does the best engine rebuild videos. I got this earlier this week with my usual monthly E-newsletter.

No other collector car insurance company supports the hobby like Hagerty.

Did you notice they grayed out the top of the blower? I wonder what they're hiding?

George,

From my OP:

"Note that DSR has had them blur the inlet side of the blower; they must be doing something innovative in that area."

So, yeah, I noticed.

Think about this.

DSR has seven (7) teams competing in NHRA this season – three rails and four floppers. Between them all, how many engines do you suppose they take to a national event? And then there are all the engines back at the shop undergoing rebuilds.

Those guys must be working their tails off.

And they must have a huge amount of money to spend, too!
