Not trying to start anything.

Along with other raceways, I just want guys to be aware, who are preparing for the Sano, and other Retro races.

I just got in a bunch of tires for the Sano.

On the JK8703PPW, I just received, 56% had 8713PPW in the bottle, 25% had 1 each of 8703PPW and 8713PPW,  19% were the correct 8703PPW.

PS: I also checked my older, remaining stock on both 8703PPW and 8713PPW, and all were correct.

Interesting. I wonder where those tire tubes are packed?

Unless, something has drastically changed, with the recent move, the tires tubes are filled in house, where the tires are ground.

I have premium tires I just bought and the rims are wider than previous ones. I did not think they worked as well.

Tim has had a difficult time hiring employees in Nev after JK was moved, as I understand it.

I'm sure he'll get back up to speed shortly! After a major move like that, it's understandable some things will be a bit upset for a little while!!

Thank goodness he is such a good supplier for our little hobby!!

Same thing at Mark's Model World last week.

He had a BRS race but the poor packaging cost him a lot of sales.

Yes, Greg. That was the point of me posting. That maybe another raceway could spot it, and get the correct item, and not disappoint the racers.

I obviously wasn't in time for Mark's, but maybe it will help for the race at HMS this weekend.

I don't think this was a mistake, but it is pretty brilliant marketing. For a lot of us, spending is limited by our wives, and it's much easier to justify buying two pairs of tires to get a set of 8713 and 8703 this way. "I had to buy two, because they don't come as a matching set. It's weird, but it's similar to two left shoes coming in one box and two right shoes coming in the other. You have to buy two to have two pairs." In all seriousness, now that the issue has been identified I'm sure it will be resolved.

The distributor, I bought the tires from, contacted JK, and I already received the correct tires, today, direct from JK.

So how long before this becomes the racers fault? :)

Geary Gaspord just dropped in tonight, to get in some practice to run the F1 race, on the Fiedler flat track, next Friday night.

He asked for tires, and when I handed him a tube of 8703PP, a soft flat track tire, he commented "this hard?"

I looked at the tires, and the top one was clearly something like a 8703PPW wonder rubber tire, while the other tire was 1/2 the hardness/most likely the correct item.

We’ve had a bit of this down here - not mismatched tyres but wrongly packaged.
One of our guys was showing me his latest JKB’s - they were JK Premium but not packaged as such

Here's one of the mismatched .820 wonder tires.

Normally they measure .830-.835".

The one below, measures .860", and is as unround in person, as the picture appears.

At least it is way oversize, and can be corrected with truing.
