Very nice Pablo and that Mississippi water in your tumbler really shined up the chassis.

Thanks gentlemen Weight 60 grams as shown.
Tony, hopefully my replica won't launch. But if she does I think my brace design will prevent failure
The Dynamic front wheels with threaded 1/8 to 1/16 reducer bushings is a bad deal - they wobble. To compensate for that, I made my front axle height a little higher than normal for this type car. I wanted to minimize front wheel interaction with the track surface. Nothing will destroy a fast slot car better than a wobbly heavy front wheel. So I took that into consideration and planned accordingly

Front axle ends were tinned with acid before the tumble, so all it took was a little paste flux to secure the wheels with keepers Koford rear axle was trimmed to make it flush with the outer flanges of the vintage wheels.
Since the Russkit replica wheels are slightly narrower, this axle works for both wheel sets
The blue vintage wheels require two Slick 7 .020 steel spacers per side to make 3.00"
The orange Russkit replica wheels require one Slick 7 .020 and one .063 spacer to make 3.00"

Great job Pablo.
I like the driver insert.
Where did that come from?
Steve King
Posted 15 November 2018 - 03:57 PM
Thanks guys
The driver interior came in the Dynamic box.
Whether or not it's the exact one that came originally, I cannot confirm or deny.
Double new Marklin wires into Cox Quickchange clips, with silver strand braid.
I reckon I nailed the tube height because the fronts are slightly elevated above the block with flag in slot.
It may require one added 10 thou steel spacer, to be determined at the track test

OK, thanks.
Wish I could get a few of those...

I'll check that for you, Steve. If I find some, consider it done

Steve, I searched my stash, no go.
Then I searched all the places I normally buy interiors, and found only two items that are pretty close:

Paul that looks like an exact match to me, No?
Whats the difference between the two you show? Is it just the material?
Posted 17 November 2018 - 09:10 AM
No, not an exact match, but the only difference I see is the repro has a shaft (don't know what it is) on the right side.
It would probably need to be cut off anyway, so no big deal.
The difference, other than that, is the Dynamic original is an antique part, and the ED is a repro.
Those things surely wouldn't bother anybody other than a dyed in the wool rivet counter

Your right, the original you have has no shaft ( which I always assumed was a gear shift rod) now I will have to check the ones I have.
Dyed in the wool rivet counter out.
