That Havlicek armature is pure slot porn!

Straights are for fast cars. Turns are for fast drivers.

Thanks Gary :)  Havlicek arms are amazing. I've installed many of his 28's in custom cars.

They always make smooth driveable power with plenty of punch

I received the Champion shim gizmo today. Shaved about .040" off the endbell side for fit.

Used my Goat Boy .535 slug to set modern "C" race magnets, zapped and matched by Greg "Cheater" Wells.

Installation was a breeze :dance3: despite the funky Cox can nubs

Pre-radiused stock size 16D brushes and Havlicek custom wound springs.

"Look, Mom, no endbell attachment screws" :D :wizard:

2V break in, initial amps 1.8, slowly dropped to 1.3 then increased to and stabilized at 1.5 amps.

Typical happy motor readings. Then 3V for a few minutes, amps were steady 1.5.

Cool off, re-oil, 3.5V, sounds fine, then fed 'er some good power, sounds great.

Very smooth, no vibration, revs quickly. Happy motor :good:

Shaft trimmed and 7T steel pinion soldered on. Powerplant is done

Done, what about the end bell mounting screws?  Motor looks great, but I think it may need them screws. (BTW, is endbell one word or two?)

Brass 2-56 motor mount screws are trimmed for length and ends tapered

Total weight is 124 grams and balance point is right at forward end of armature shaft :curtsey:

Driver is Philippe de Lespinay :clapping:

Didn't even have to trim the body to clear the Weldun gear :)

Didn't have to trim for flag rotation, either :D

Thanks everybody. Feels great to have pulled it all together and be appreciated.

Slot cars are a team effort - I'm just the guy who assembled it with a hot iron and some hand tools :sun_bespectacled:

God is in charge. There are many great souls in the heart of this car besides me:

Bob Emott, Jairus Watson, John Havlicek, Philippe de Lespinay, Greg Wells, Rick Thigpen, .........

Plus all those Slotbloggers who constantly watch my back and inspire me :)
