The handouts were terrific, and both qualifying records were smashed, with Jerry Galloway going 4.340 on GTC-FK, beating Paul Pfeiffer's record of last year of 4.369.
Willy ran about a half dozen 4.2's, including a 4.234 and a 4.243, to top his record from last year, of 4.29X.
The local racers gave the ambulance companies a workout this last few weeks, and GTC-FK entry total was disappointing, but the racing was terrific.
At one point, 3 or 4 heats in, 5 racers were on the same lap, and 1, only a lap back.
Going into the last heat, Tracy was a lap, and a few feet behind Jerry G.
Jerry came off early, and Tracy got within a half a lap, but a few deslots cost him, and Jerry took the win.
Nelson managed to hold off Boogie and a hard charging Eric B, for 3rd.
In post race tech, Tracy came in at 109.9G, a .1 too light, and was DQ'ed, moving up Nelson and Boogie on to the podium.
Tracy took his DQ with class, as Noose warned him in tech that he was right on the edge.
Willy was ballistic.
Despite spinning a crown, dropping 5-6 laps, the first heat on Red, he broke his existing lap record by 2 laps.
The battle of the non-Willy's, was a great one, with 4 laps separating 2nd - 7th.
