I just couldn't make it to the Fall Brawl this year, although I had intended to be there. I wanted to be there!

But with the help of Clyde Romero and a few other friends on site, I'm going to try to get the results posted here anyway.

First a couple pics of from today.

fb1.jpg

This is rare pic on two levels: 'Jersey" John Molnar is actually awake in a raceway and he's saluting the cameraman with twice as many fingers as he usually employs. That's Joe 'Noose" Neumeister in the foreground, and I believe Eddie 'Edsel' Sohl on his right.

fb2.jpg

Over the boxes and above the bank, racers are making some laps on SpeedZone's fast 220' Ogilvie Engleman.

fb3.jpg

It's almost impossible to get enough practice time on the evil 'Jersey Devil' flat track.

Today's classes were GT Coupe on the Devil and Can-Am Plus and RetroPro on the Gerding G9 King.

GT Coupe - qualifying:

1) Luis 'Gugu' Bernardino - 5.519 secs
2) Chris Radisich - 5.522
3) Howie Ursaner - 5.544
4) Tom Adams - 5.640
5)  Tom Hansen - 5.799
6) Doug Murphy - 5.801
7) Rick Dodge - 5.854
8) Gary 'Hip' Culy - 5.856
9) Dennis Samson - 5.910
10) Bill Sutton - 5.945

Can-Am Plus concours:

 ca+.conc.jpg

[edit] Digging through the LapMaster tables on the SpeedZone NJ website, I realized that the GTC results were split into two tables and through the miracle of computer-assisted photo manipulation, I have combined them into a single results table. The color-coding and bolding for best laps in each heat is wrong, but it's too much work to fix that problem.

On today's slate is Stock Car and GTC FK and Pro.

The calm before the thrashing, right after the raceway opened this morning.

fb7.jpg

Preston Selfinger on the left looks pretty pleased with the way his Stock car is going. Noose is seemingly telling Edsel what he should do, as Brian 'XPro' Cochrane listens in.

fb8.jpg

Obviously the Calfornia crew: Duran 'Iceman' Trujillo and Jason Holmes, Alex Freund, Dake Yamashita, and master chassis builder Dennis Samson, in the gray cap.

Almost a full panel testing their Stock Cars. Left to right, Mike 'Biscuit' Bresett, Kyle "Jack" Hall, Luis 'Gugu' Bernardino, Howie Ursaner, Dom Luongo, TN's Will Brinkley, and Dennis Samson.

The 'Tech Nazi' has assumed his position and is probing some hapless racer's Stock Car.

And Jersey John is still awake, but it's early yet... (Does he know how risky it is to sleep in a raceway with Gugu in the house?)

I am told there are 42 entries for F1, so there's a car missing from the rack pic below. It's probably in the pits getting fixed to make the Tech Nazi happy.

f1.rack.jpg

It's almost boring that Noose won yet another concours, but since the winners are selected by racer vote, you know it's well-deserved and not rigged (unlike what some claim for certain other elections...). Second place was Gary Clinton Sr. #64 (Gesner paint) and third was Dale Yamashita #3.

Congrats, Duran and Chubby!

Can someone explain the picture? Did Duran wall it, came off, and passed Chub? Did Duran come off in front of him? :wacko2:  :good:

[edit] Just found out Duran was leading, kept the trigger down in the last couple seconds, and came off when power turned off.

JJ was warned...

Gugu must be getting soft in his old age. That's the mildest 'adornment' I've ever seen him do to a 'sleeping beauty' in a raceway.

Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap

It's Sunday and the ever-popular Can-Am class will be run on the Engleman. The early-arriving top dogs are already at the panel looking for faster times.

fb12.jpg

L-R at the panel, FL racer Kyle "Jack" Hall, Andrew Ford, Keith Libby, Tom Adams, Will Brinkley, and Steve Levitsky. At far left is Gary Clinton Jr and I can't tell who that is in the red shirt bending down to hook up.
