Hey bub, I just made a lucky find - the first commercially made slot car, from the German firm Bub, in a 1953 set with a single-lane track! No real scale or car model that I can tell. It's about 3-3/4" long and 1-1/2" wide. Plus the body is made of bakelite...

Kinda looks like a Beardsmore taxi. Interesting that the pick-up shoes are at the rear.

Dave, there's a guide pin front and rear, and the pickups are at the front...

 

Pretty standard for a lot of early slot cars to have two guide pins. Plus, this is a one-lane set, so just a highway system, no point in drifting!
