GOBLES, Mich. — Slot car racing is seeing a resurgence in Gobles, Michigan with the newly opened Slot Car, Inc. on State Street. The three tracks inside cater to drag cars, and two different sizes of slot car tracks. Kevin Ketchum owns two locations of his Klassic Arcade in Gobles, and just opened up Slot Car, Inc. to the public three weeks ago in November.

“Someone suggested putting a slot car track in, and it just blossomed real quick,” Ketchum said.

Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap

Great to hear a new track in Michigan open up. What's the name of the place and what side of the state are they on?

Using the fancy Google machine, it appears Gobles is a bit west of Kalamazoo.

Seems like MI leads the rest of the US in slot car tracks

Commercial tracks, probably Ohio or maybe Illinois.

Always a good idea to check Slotblog's Raceway list.

Terri and I visited Slot Car Inc. shortly after they were open (but not the grand opening) in the late winter of 2017-2018. As mentioned in the WMMT article, it is run by the same people who own Klassic Arcade in downtown Gobles.

Kevin Ketchum also is the organizer of the annual "Pinball at the Zoo" arcade and gameroom show held at the Kalamazoo County Expo Center.

That's thirty minutes away. I'll be there in ten.
