Here's how to brace up the Riggen 5003 chassis to make it a winner. They say that a photo is worth a thousand words and these pictures attest to that.

First, bracing is a must. The Riggen will bend like a cat from Trinidad doing the Limbo Rock. This chassis is recommended for the AWRA classes that allow bracing, even though it has won races in an unbraced state.

The chassis needs to be blueprinted. Like most Womp chassis, the 5003 isn't straight and square. Luckily, the AWRA classes that allow bracing also allow a slew of chassis mods. You will need a jig to properly build a race-worthy 5003. If you don't have one, get one. When you measure the chassis, you will notice that the rear axle towers are off. You will have to even these up before starting with the bracing.

The photos will show you how to properly brace your 5003 for competition. Good luck and remember, "Rubbin' is racin', son." So stay square and stay straight!

The photos and build are by Dean Stewart, who is the AWRA test guy, He checks all the chassis for approval and also builds some super Womps.

No rear pan stops?  Or crossbar to eliminate chassis flex to be equal to other womp frames?

The trick here is strengthening the chassis while retaining the natural flex. Dean Stewart has managed how to accomplish this. This Riggen is solid as a rock but handles nearly as well as some flexi chassis.
