I have found that a tablet sleeve, depending on size, will hold 1-2 controllers without issue. Your mileage and cost may vary. I have one that cost $1 up to some that are around $12. a 7" will hold a controller like a parma turbo. a 10" will hold a difalco or an external resistor controller. an 11-13" sleeve will hold 2 controllers.
I have since stopped using them since I got a box with an appropriately sized drawer.

I've used the Bucket Boss brand work bag for years. You can put your tools (dremel-light-tire cutter-power supply-extension cord) in the bottom layer and controllers on top. Very well made and they come in many sizes.

he probably wants something specialized that holds each one in its place so they dont bang into each other and cause damage,if im right there are camera bags that would probably fit the bill especially if they are for multiple cameras, then they have deviders and some are padded,or you can take foam and cut to fit and make slots to slide into the foam each component.
