My fairly new customer, Dale H,  has been bringing in a bunch of, not pristine, but interesting cars from his uncle, who raced in the 60's and early 70's, in Kentucky.
 
The below almost looks like a class project from a sheet metal class, and could pass for a 1/24th Womp Womp.
 
Also below, is an oddity.
 
Some sort of aluminum endbell, converted for use in a Hemi 300.
 
A lot of work to get it to fit, but ill conceived, as the brushes are now at 12 and 6 o'clock.

Here you go, Paul, since you seem to be a bit intrigued by it.
 
It seems to have a rewound arm.
 
It doesn't run, or even rotate freely in the can.
 
It seems like the air gap is too small for the diameter of the arm.

 

PS- I like how the can is a different length on each end.

The arm reminds me of a Pittcan's too. I like the chassis & its Russkit 34.

What's kind of neat is how the guide tongue is also the front motor brace.

If that is a Pittman arm, the timing should be right. It looks like one of my early rewinds, too much wire.

Yep.

 

The arm has a ton of taper and is .523" on the fat side, with a .525" air gap.

Dale H is pretty handy and has modified this to take a modern body.
 
The Russkit 34 isn't super fast, but the car handles real well.

 

Probably as well as a 4" FCR.

Quite frankly, some of my best handling cars back in the day were simply built up on slabs of brass, with no fancy floppy pans

or complicated suspension. I think it was a good example of the KISS law, Keep It Simple, Stupid!
