let's try this. here's an example of the motor in question. I guess it must be a Mabuchi 13UO.
we used to take about 15-20 turns off these, back in the middle 60's. then again, we were running on a 3A power supply per lane.
of course, we had to be careful- too much b4lls from the motor and the dumb endbell would melt. (this was before we figured out shunt wires, of course.)
and no ventilation- the bodies wrapped pretty tightly around the motor. later the 16Ds got hexagonal brush holders, but I don't think that these little things ever had 'em.
