Our first race with the thingie body, Banchee on the JK Indy and faster motors was a wreck fest, the Banchee dosn't have the down force  of the body we used last year, plus the faster motors, led to more wrecks than normal. But Hay it was a learning experience, we will do better next month.

Pablo only gave up first place one time and that was for the GTP class.

Billy, the knives look great. What are their handles made from? Laminated wood, leather, or another material?

Nice race report as usual. :)

I may be incorrect, but the knives appear to be of Estwing manufacture;  The laminated leather (overlay) handles are (were??) their trademark for many years...

So sorry, I made a concourse judging mistake today by awarding it to John Clow (#3 with the skeleton driver).

The #3 car has already won concours in a previous event. I purposely made this rule to avoid the same car winning all the time:

"Once a body wins a concours plaque, it is no longer eligible for concours until others have a chance to win a plaque, and it becomes eligible again at a time to be determined by the concours judge"

and I totally forgot about it. Red won concours back a few months ago, so that leaves Buddy and Steve eligible.

I vote for Buddy's car. My apologies to everybody, especially John who has graciously agreed to hand the plaque over to Buddy Mitchell next race.

Which kart is Buddy's? I notice everyone is running one of Billy's kart bodies rather than the JK now.

The knives are my version of the Marbles Woodcrafter, with leather handles, I make the handles slightly larger than the the original.

 The purple one.

Yup. The JK's nose is so short the flag upsets the body when it rotates.

You could use a shorter flag I guess but .........

Thanks for the response Pablo. Isn't Buddy one of the good body painters who races at Billy's? For a group it's size, Billy's has at least 5 or 6 racers who are very good at painting. Usually you'd expect to see fewer.

Beautiful knives Billy! I'm not a knife collector, but have a friend who is. One question if I may ask. Do you sharpen your knives using oil stones, water stones, diamond plates, or a combination of different sharpening mediums?

The final sharpening is done on an oil stone,
