This car is a Johan, AMT, Cox mongrel. The blue color used doesn't look like the Petty Blue on the actual race cars I've seen. This slot car seems to ride lower than the 1:1 cars, too.

Not badly done, but the chassis looks like a PM AMT re-pop.

Steve is correct. Good catch! The original AMT chassis are marked AMT CORP., 100-459 between the rear body mounts. The chassis on this car has no such markings.

Wow, Bill, you are a tough grader.

The blue color on the car looks real close to the color on the box behind it.

And "This slot car seems to ride lower than the 1:1 cars. too."

Like tens of thousand's of other slot cars out there. LOL.

It might be a Revell/Monogram model. They did the most recent Superbird models. Since the frame is a recent repro, I doubt they would have used a valuable, old Johan kit.

It says it's a Jo-Han in the description, along with being pictured in front of a Jo-Han box.

These tens of thousands of other slot cars weren't all priced at $175 either.  :laugh2:

I'd expect "Petty Blue," but this ain't it. This looks like Testor light blue.

Well, I have a few real AMT 459 chassis, and an old Johann '70 Superbird. Might be worth spending an afternoon to put

them together.

Petty had two Superbird teams, the 43 for Richard and the 40 for the late Pete Hamilton.
