This build is going to be a "combo-load" combining 3 different Pittman motors. Here are the victims:

I was inspired by fellow Slotblogger with this post during another of my Pittman builds:
In the Chicago area, It was common practice in the mid 1960's to use the larger magnet DC- 60/62 series big blocks with the 65-6 volt arms and the 196 rear carriers..............
The 62 has a bigger magnet than the 196 but is the same width so it can be simply bolted in. But the side plates on the 62 are bigger and would wrap around the armature more.........maybe for more torque? 
Here is the smaller 196 side plate on top of the 62 motor:
I need to make the 62 fit the 196 rear axle bracket and a 65-6V armature. 
First step is to disassemble the 62 and cut off the rear bearing plate to free up the side plates:
The 62 side plates need to be Dremeled and filed into shape to accept the 196 rear axle bracket.
Modified side plate on the bottom:
A 2-56 hole has to be drilled very near the existing hole to mount the 196 rear axle bracket. I filled the existing hole with a brass screw soldered in place:

Cutting the tenons into the 62 side plates to fit into the 196 rear axle bracket while keeping everything aligned was the hard part:
