The first annual NERR team enduro will take place at Modelville Hobby on May 18 with coupes. Racing will be done on the Gerding King. Here is how the teams and racing will go:
- Goal is to have four racers per team.
- Each team will have a crew chief and will make up one of the 4 drivers on each team. Crew chiefs will be decided by Dom and Larry. Drivers will be assigned to a team by random draw.
- NERR racers need to make a minimum of four races to be on a team.
- Alternate drivers who do not make the four-race minimum will be rotated in based on sign-up.
- Teams will race for 30 minutes on each lane. Each driver will run for 7.5 minutes.
- Track will be shut off for 30 seconds during driver change during heat race.
- Track will be shut off for 60 seconds during lane change.
- All work on cars must be done under green.
- Drivers who rotate out will marshal after their relief driver finishes their stint.
- Example: Driver 1 comes out and will marshal when driver 3 goes in.
- Painted coupe body, assembled chassis, tires, motors, gears, etc… will be given out at 7:30. Car will be assembled by the crew chief and team. Each team will have three engraved motors and two pair of Thunder medium rear tires.
- Entry fee per driver is $45. Payment must be sent to Dom by April 27 (not before April 1 please).
- Tech at 9:30 with random lane assignment.
- Tech at halfway point. Track power goes off. If a car fails tech changes must be made under green and the car re-teched before returning to the track. Once all cars have been teched the race continues. Weight, rear tire size, track width, and clearance will be checked.
- Designated pit area will be in the short straight after the finger on the King.
- At the end of the race individual motors from the race, race body, and chassis will be raffled off amongst the team.
As we get closer crew chiefs, tires, bodies/paint, will be posted. I'll be building the chassis for the race.
