Buena Park Raceway and the SoCal wing car racers are pleased to announce the dates for the 2019 Western States Championship races.

April 5:

One Motor Box. (OMB)
 Power off at 6PM

April 6:

Phoenix motors
Phoenix Limited (requires 13/37 gear set)
Phoenix open

April 7:

Cobalt racing

G27L

          Two Motor Open (TMO)
These 2 classes will run 4 on, 4 off

All classes:
Will qualify one minute on the blue lane. One round only.
Will run on spray glue conditions.
Require numbers, drivers and front wheels. Sticker fronts are OK.
Entry fee $15. Track opens 8 AM, power off at 10 AM

As always, tires are restricted to the Koford M472-615 or any tire with a .500" diameter or smaller hub. We will be testing these tires during our during our special February TMO event. I don’t expect there will be a problem with these tires, but if there is, I will post as soon as I know.

Chassis for OMB

We will allow any current or past G12 chassis.
Exceptions: We will allow the Mid-America chassis, in any of the three lengths he supplies and the Chicagoland chassis.
If there is a chassis you want to run and I don’t show it, just ask and I will make the determination then. I plan to be reasonably easy on this, I am planning to go with any generally available chassis, but each request will be handled individually.
Chassis must be "as produced." No shortening the chassis or struts, or modifying rail dimensions. You can remove the front weights.
No minimum weight.

Motor

Any G12 motor or arm.
Cahoza parts except for the T2 magnet will be allowed.
Ball bearings at both ends of the motor are allowed.
Shunts and spring insulation are OK.

Be part of this legendary event. I have been told it is the longest continually run slot car race in the world.

so if you are making this a handout motor race, guys will most likely  participate. HA HA

not sure if I blew one of your motors at the outlaw retro race (don't think I did) but I would be happy to try again to blow it up, LOL

The Idea was to run them in the Ground at the Outlaw that why you couldn't change brushes they were full width but this time we don't want you to blow up and most know what to do to make them last I would hope but I told them above if not this will not be a Handout but if you wish to use mine your free to but you must give it back able to run again or a 10 will do they have never been raced that's the offer

I found an error in my original post.

It shows under "all classes" that the track will open at 8am and power off at 10am. that should be for the phoenix races.

I had written this in MS word, I copied it and then pasted it to this forum but it got corrupted. I fixed a number of things, but I missed that one.

Sorry.

GROUP 12 Armatures

I have had a couple of questions about hand wound arm produced for Hillbilly box. I did my research and talked to a few people involved in G12 and HBbox and they all said the same thing. There is no difference in the lap times generated by these 2 arms. The best machine wound arms run the same as the best hand wound arms.

So I have decided to allow both the machine and hand wound arm in our OMB race at the western states.

Bill 2 years ago when we ran the spec tires in at that time OMO they wanted to come apart at the outside edge. Will be interesting to see if they last next weekend at the practice race.

James

That's why we are testing them. Forrest runs them during his practice sessions without problem.

They work great on 13.2 volt and stick perfect for 1.9 mid 1.8 but 14.2 volt is a whole different story. Id perfer to run on low power spray glue myself. It will keep the class even

Just a ?? for Bill T  In 27L and TMO can we run the Koford M472-650S or M472-680S 16$ Spec Tire as it might be better suited for those Classes on low power like I said just asking
