Important notice: Car Classes for Oct 20 & Nov 17 races were in error. Stock Car was listed as the 3rd race for each meet. It is actually time to run Pro Coupes per our "Normal" rotation. The printable schedule has been changed, please take note.

As most know, I have usually about zero time for slot car stuff in December and January. Combine that normal routine with unusually good skiing here in the last month, and I have been off the hook busy. Got a full day off today to deal with real life (and also slot cars) So here is the mostly firm 2019 race schedule. I have confirmed with Gene but have not heard back from Dwight. I don't expect any changes from him so here we go.

Highlights.....................

  • Two raceway schedule as last year starting at Motown in February (24th), followed by FTH in March.
  • Continuing the previously discussed earlier opening (9AM) and earlier racing start (11AM)
  • Races at FTH will be subject to track availability. Expect racing on the Kingleman in March.
  • Third Sunday of every month with some alterations based on working around holidays.
  • Feb: one week later than normal due to president's week.
  • April: one week later due to Easter Sunday
  • June: one week later due to Fathers day and "American Graffiti" week
  • Two 4 race days scheduled for the middle of summer. Each will include a stock car on flat track race.
  • Other "switchup" races will be less than prior years with two Can Am/flat track races for summer months.
  • IF the trending popularity of Stock Cars on the flat tracks continues, we may shift some races later.

No rule changes for 2019 other than the ongoing body additions from last year and the adoption of all shaft and marking versions of the JK Retro Hawk. I''ll require the motors to be installed with the ID markings facing the bottom of the chassis. This will allow ID of the motor. If the ID markings are not visible, the body will have to be removed for tech. If there are no visible markings apparent, the motor will not run. As in the past, we will not allow the use of weighted guides or aftermarket lightened gears.

Will never happen until I fully retire. Even with the abbreviated schedule I have right now, Dec and Jan are just full out and even February until after President's week. It's just the way the ski business is. It's gonna be about all I can do to be even 1/2 ready for our late February race.

Earliest trip down there I can even hope for is April, and May is more realistic. I miss my SoCal brethren but I still have responsibilities to cover. I'm guessing Herman will make it and I built an anglewinder for a local expert so at least there'll be some NorCal representation.

Very fun day of racing at Motown---if you SoCal guys want a treat for Retro racing---go up and check it out!! Two fun tracks--one HIGH speed and the other a traditional flat track!! Great racing and fun local crowd.  I will definitely be back!! THanks Jim, Herman, Gene and Jenn and all the locals--great group!!

Howdy Tim, glad you're getting some racing up there. You gonna make it down for the Summer Classic?

Have fun up there big guy.
