Fellas,

I have one of the new JK RTR Indy cars.

I'm wondering what center section the chassis has and can I use a separately-sold pan to run the chassis as a full-sized JK car?

This answers part of your question:

As far as using a non-standard pan, I don't know - where we run them they must remain stock

The answer should come from Tim at JK Products to verify if a wide pan does fit on the narrow pan frame.  You did not say if your indy car is the narrow or wide pan  version.  I have not tried to see or fit the difference between the wide and narrow center sections.  They do have slightly different part numbers.

The standard C-35 wide pan car does fit conventional 4" bodies.  Of course the IndyCar front wheels would affect whether you cut the body of remove the wheels.

The Jk Indy center section and the JK open wheel center are the same, the pans for the open wheel are the same width as regular slot car bodies, and will fit either center section,

We race the JK Indy with an open wheel body , then change the pans and race a 3.25" go kart body, witch Pablo always wins!
