As a kid I always wanted one of those but never bought one because they were pricey and slow. Now that I'm older they are still pricey and slow, but yours is fabulous! :clapping:

Hi Mike,

One of my first cars, although I removed the body and stuck a Petty #43 hard plastic NASCAR body on it. OK so I was a model building geek who found slot cars..

I remember racing in a 24-hour enduro sponsored by K&B with these cars. Our team ran the Ford GT and finished second. The house team won of course as the track had only two non-launching lanes and they were theirs for the event. These things handled great once we stuck the two "A" batteries one on each side for the lights. So good in fact we left our batteries in place in the morning for the last couple of hours.

The Cobra Daytona coupe was by far the most beautiful. Would not mind having one myself.

Slow it may be, but this was one of my favorite slot cars back then.

Pete Brock, the designer of the real car, is a judge at Amelia every year and is, I believe, one of PdL's old friends.

Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap

Oh the good old days when you would by a slot car because it was cool or you just liked the body, not by how high performance it was.

Beautiful car, great paint job!!

And I still enjoy running laps with my K&B Ford GT and this same Cobra!
