I met this racing collector at a local flea market. He sold me framed prints and a couple of slot cars.
I can use help to ID parts and any info on this car. I believe it to be scratched built? The owner had it autographed in person before the clear body was painted. A great knowledgeable collector.

Roy, I don't believe your chassis is a scratchbuilt one, It appears to be a Pactra with some owner-applied solder in spots. Do a Google or Bing search on Pactra slot car chassis for a variety of photos. the Classic 26D motor was the best $3 bargain in the late '60s & they ran well stock. my guess on the Chaparral body is that it could be a Russkit, but I'm not 100% sure of that. You have a nice car there. :)

Autograph looks like the one I got at Road America at the Historic races when Jim was the Grand Marshall at least ten years ago when he brought the museum cars out to play.

Pactra chassis and a Russkit body, but the two don't go together.   The frame has no provisions to mount that body.

Yes, he said the body didn't come with the car. He handed it to Jim and said Jim was puzzled due to being clear, but he signed it anyway. He later had a friend paint it. He had it mounted with double stick Velcro tires to body.
Thank you Jim for the info.
