A recent eBay purchase was repop Russkilt Chaparral 2D in a TrueScale box (there also was a listing for a repop Shinoda body in a similar box). The box end is blank with a sticker for the body, no Truescale number.

Does this mean there is a supply of blank TrueScale boxes out there that someone is using? Or did TrueScale do un-numbered repops? Does this mean TrueScale is truly gone?

Inquiring minds want to know.

TrueScale has been down for a while now. Bodies came in boxes at first and then were sold in labeled plastic bags. Some generic unmarked boxes may have made their way out to the public.

I believe Gene's World may have some molds for the TrueScale Thingie bodies.  I see new TrueScale bodies pop up every so often on eBay in the $20 and up range.

It means absolutely nothing, other than someone sold a car and put it in a TS box.

You could buy boxes by themselves as well.

Which bodies or molds are you referring to?

I've bought quite a few bodies from Victor over the years, and most had a label/name of the body enclosed, but there were a few that came with nothing on them.

A couple of times I bought multiple of the same body, one box was marked, and the others were plain.

I didn't know that it was possible to buy just the box, as Matt points out.

I thought you might have the Bandit mold and others. Maybe you were just given TrueScale bodies to sell off. My bad.

I saw those items on eBay being sold by Dan.

I’m not sure why the box wasn’t marked if it was mailed with that body but it’s most likely that my lack of paying attention caused it to be that way.

I have shipped a few blank and empty boxes as well. So, yes, there’s some blank ones out there.

TrueScale bodies is not really gone. I never stopped making bodies but rather “scaled back” as I couldn’t handle orders in the proper amount of time and I have had a change in jobs that took over my life!! That’s over!

For a few years now emailed orders have worked best.

Good to hear you're still making slot car bodies Victor, even if  production is in a smaller scale  :victory:
