Am I blind and or dumb? I can't find a schedule for the race. I am planning on coming to this race and want to see what I'd be interested in racing.

Jimmy,
Not everyone is on Facebook, as people keep posting here to say.
And where else is Retro racing more respected?
Honestly, why would the RetroPalooza schedule be posted only to Facebook and/or before being posted here?
It's a sincere question...
I sometimes wonder why Ive spent nearly 15 years trying to promote and publicize the slot car hobby when some seem to feel Facebook is a better venue for that purpose.
If I'm a grumpy, irascible old geezer wasting my time here, please free to tell me that.

I agree completely, Greg. Anybody interested in the RetroPalooza or any of the other big races knows where to go for Retro news.

Not a Facebook member and do not intend to be. They make it near impossible for you to look around without joining.
Keep at it, Greg. Us old geezers will be around a while longer.

Some of us old geezers use Facebook without problems. You don't have to tell everyone where you're going, where you've been, or show photos of your last meal, as some people are inclined to do.
For me, it's a great photo-sharing tool with my grandsons in AZ. Yes, I have found other uses, too. I'll agree, it doesn't have a very good search engine if you're used to Bing and Google.

Bill, my question isn't based on Slotblog vs. Facebook; it's not an either or situation.
I'm just trying to understand why anyone would feel that Facebook is the only place to post the RetroPalooza schedule when...
... the de facto home of the sanctioning body for the race is located here and the RetroPalooza is an IRRA® Premier race
... almost 100% of the Premier races have been reported on and archived here
... the vast majority of Retro racers who race at the RetroPalooza are either members here or are frequent readers of this forum
... and Slotblog for better than a decade has promoted the promoted the Retro racer genre to an extremely high level, more so than any other place on the internet.
I just desire to understand the thinking involved here, because, well... I just don't get it.

This is my go-to for all slot car information.
It's called Slotblog for goodness sake!
Facebook... They're like sheep led to the slaughter!
I know plenty of men that are not on Facebook. Young and old alike.
Facebook for slot car events = OK.
Slotblog for slot car events = great!

This was just a question to get the schedule. It wasn't meant to be a debate over where is the best place to post a race.

Much of my racing was done before Al Gore invented the internet, In the 70's, raceways & racing organizations would maintain an address list of racers. Whenever there was a major race scheduled, they USPS'd you an announcement with all the details.
Facebook gained it's early popularity because it is free. One doesn't have to spend the money to develop & host a website. It wasn't until the server dumped a few months ago, that I learned Slotblog has a Facebbook page. I was surprised. Good thing too, it was the only online communications vehicle that wasn't in that server. How many of you use GOOGLE or Gmail? Their data collection practices & devices are far more scarier than FB's.
I intend to live forever! So far, so good.
