Well,I got a few of these Kal Kar chassis awhile back to build into a few stock, non "Hot Rod" vintage slot cars. One of these will be done with all vintage parts with a Du Bro Willys body on it.looking totally 60s . I doubt if I ever run them very much,if at all,but I love the look of all of the vintage, factory parts slot cars of the 60s.
These 2 chassis are all set up for the Strombecker 300 motors to screw to the end bell towards the front of the chassis and screw into the can on the motor bracket end at the axle.
From what I have been reading in the archive materials on here, these "Hemi" motors were kind of an odd motor and are not the easiest to get parts for?(I sold one of these in NICE condition in a parts lot a few years back... Thinking I would NEVER,EVER need such a thing! :/ lol)
Ok,to the point here, Should I hunt down some more of these Hemis to use,or should/can I do another style of vintage motor without totally butchering up the mounting places on these chassis??? The one 16D CLASSIC Maubuchi I have looks like it is ABOUT the same length, but I will have to do some extreme "carving" to get it to work......
Thoughts,opinions here???
