The first 2 photos are from the first track of my father in his office in 1965 the other ones are from his raceway called Mil Milhas as you can see Pirelli tires and Dunlop  were   sponsor.

How many commercial tracks were there in Portugal/Lisbon at the time? Did it also get to be a bit of a fad? 

 

It's like the tracks in France - lots of guys in ties and suits!

Yes is the transladtion from Italian to portuguese.

 

From120 to 6 in 1972.

 

Yes everyboby with ties and suits like the Russkit Team.

Milmilhas, by any chance did you ever go to the slotcar track at the "Feira Popular" (public amusement park) in Lisbon?

 

I was there  in 1971 and if I recall correctly it was an outdoor (!) track using the T-slot system so that the rental cars wouldn't deslot. 

 

Do you have any pictures of it or know it's history or what became of it?

Hi Jo,

 

Yes it was a track with Steering Wheel from American Raceways.

 

I don`t have pictures but i know is somewhere near Lisbon in a garage.

Great to know that the track still exists. It's funny that I remember the t-slots but not the steering wheels!

 

Milmilhas, does the current owner have it set up and in use or is it in storage?
