Received an AMT collection from someone who said they came from the VP of AMT. They guessed at the name of this VP as Mr Barrens? I’m guessing the name was Barris? AMT designer George Barris???
Does anyone have any information about AMT management? I’ve read a few articles however no mention of a Mr Barrens.
Lots of info about George Barris as a designer at AMT. However I don’t know he was ever a VP?
Thanks in advance for any responses.

Nice. find Paul I don't think Barris was ever more than advertising fodder for AMT. He may have provided sketches of some of his ideas and suggestions, but I doubt there was any hands on involvement. It would have been easy to cal him a VP, same with Winfield and few of the other customizers they had on the payroll and in advertisements. Somebody may know more detailed info.

Back in about 1966 I was walking home from my HS and came across a building at 15th St. & Washington in Phoenix that had AMT Corporation on the front. The paved yard was fences and screened, naturally I peeked between the slats and saw what looked like a Munster type hot rod. Over the months of peeking I saw a lot of really cool cars there. The front door was always locked and no one ever answered my knocks.
