Carsteen CS4 controller hook-up?

Does the brake wire need to be hooked up for the controller to function properly other than just to have brakes ? In other words does the brake wire have a function other than brakes ?

It’s the ground as well. Controller won’t work without it connected.

And this is also the reason why it's not suited for drag-racing. If there was a ground-connection on drag-tracks it would perform very, very well.

Thanks, that explains why it acted so weird. Track was closing and did not get a chance to try it some more.
