Found a barn find BEFORE pic. :)

It could also be an AFTER pic if I was to paint with the wrong product. :wacko2:

And an alternative crude way to mount the DMI body

I think this one flew a little close to the sun.

Come on Martin, that's a wonderful project and you have the skills and talent to make it great again!
I have faith in you.

Well, been very busy working at my day job, but Wednesday afternoon I dropped everything and finished the DMI McLaren M1A.
Really.

Follow along...

Livery is fantasy of course as Washburn Chevrolet never sponsored an entry in Can Am, but they did sponsor other sports cars so it's not out of the realm.

Ah, I can see two things I missed.  First the pick-up braids need to be trimmed so they don't short out and I forgot to sign the chassis.  Easy fixes.

Well, back to the drawing board. B:)

Some really nice details JW. Love the faux leather straps over the spare tire. The driver, roll bar and carbs etc. Nice looking car.

Would you do anything different ?

Yes, I would paint it on the OUTSIDE!
Like I did a recent Tarantula. Not pointing out flaws but the thickness of the body material can be a detail problem...

Interesting to hear you say that... like painting a hardbody.  That would improve realism, but doesn't that introduce a host of different problems?
