"A symphony of sound and beauty"... overlay unnecessary loud music.

I agree. Too much music. Being a gearhead, my music comes out the tailpipe. By the way, they really did punch
holes in the ignition key to save weight. Odd, considering the shift knob was a machined zinc casting. And if
you put me, at 250 pounds, in the car, what's the sense. I drove a 917K from Lake Forest, IL., to Libertyville
over public roads. Not as much fun as I had thought it would be, but an experience I'll treasure none-the-less.

Nice paint!
I intend to live forever! So far, so good.

You also can go to the Simeone in Philly and see and hear an original paint hippie 917LH, and see it run (around a parking lot) if it is selected for a run day. P.S. -- wooden shift knob!

I used to work in the LA Harbor. One day I walked around a firewall in the warehouse and there were 3/4 crates of 917s going to the Porsche dealer in Redondo Beach CA. It was a treat. Almost as much as the life size KIng Kong I saw later.
