Details are still emerging but from an extremely reliable source, close to situation, has informed me that Haven H&R has 'officially' changed hands and is now under completely new management. It is/will be in the same location but I imagine that the phone number may change.

 

Same track and I've also heard there are some encouraging plans being considered. I understand a name change to A&J Raceway may be in the works. Not sure that is final yet.

 

I'm sure word-of-mouth will get news out pretty quick. But as more firm news becomes available, I'll try posting it here.

Brian Lear is the new owner and he took over last Wednesday. There seems to bit a fair bit of excitement associated with the change. Hoping for great success for him.

Well, here's some details from a fully reliable source, Bandes. LOL.

As of last week, Haven Raceway & Hobby sold the entire commercial slot car side of our business to racer Brian Lear, who has since renamed the location to A&J Raceway (after his two sons, Alex and Jesse). The track is going to remain at 442 Cleveland St. in Elyria, and as of right now racing will continue in much the same fashion as previously with GT1 and 4.5" stock cars. Brian hasn't yet decided on additional classes or racing dates, but he's got a locked in Ohio Challenge Cup date and is looking forward to keeping racing going in the area. 

Haven Hobby will be relocating to a smaller location near Grafton, focusing on the hobby side of the business and reopening within the next two weeks. 

It's my sincere hope that the slot car community pulls behind Brian because it's not every day a raceway gets a second chance like this with as eager or involved an owner.

Information is verified as current as of 6/2019. Please call before visiting to assure that they will be open.

 

NOTE: There seems to be some confusion about the address of the raceway- I am in the process of confirming the information that is listed in the raceway directory. According to what Justin posted above, the raceway is in the same location, just under new management.
