$19.99 each retail. Part # RTR-PRI902

We are resurrecting another great item from the PRI vault, with many more still to come. The 3/32" axle bearing/bushing installation and alignment tool is back.

Available online at www.ralphthorneracing.com, or through ERI. Full discount on this item to raceways.

No more guessing or worries about slightly out of line pillow blocks or bearings. You can now solder or glue your bearings in place while being held straight. This is used by many of the top builders!

The spring is soldered to two brass tubes which push the inside bearing race outward. Simply place the spring and the brass tubes in the middle of your bearings (pushing outward) and place the collars on the outside of each bearing then tighten the setscrew.

You will receive the following pieces:

  • 4" ground jig axle
  • Stainless steel custom spring with brass tubes pre-soldered to the spring
  • Two stainless collars that support the outer race of the bearing keeping the bearings perpendicular to the axle

  • MSwiss, Half Fast, JimF and 4 others like this

If you are just using a spring and two collars, believe me when I tell you this will get the bearings or bushings aligned MUCH better!!!!

And Mr. Voska, one other benefit to this product for those that solder in their bushings, the collars are made of stainless steel, so the solder does not stick to them if you get carried away with too much solder! :good:

Hey KVP:

I'm a bit surprised about your statement that solder won't stick to Stainless steel. That's what most of the ball bearings we use are made of. Admittedly it doesn't solder nearly as easily as brass or plain steel so it's a bit of a help, but watch out if you get messy with the acid flux.

My bad, you are correct, Jay. I should have said "does not stick as easily!"

The 3/32" axle bearing/bushing installation and alignment tool ( PRI-902 ) is back with a new updated design! We've added a flange on one side of the stainless steel collet to make it easier to use with bushings. The flange allows for a little more room between the bushing/bearing install tool and your soldering iron tip. If your using this with bearings just use the concave side you've been using. See picture for example on how to use with bushings. No change in price and all orders will be shipped with the newly design collets. If for some reason you like the old style collets better, send us a message before ordering and we'll swap them out for you.
