It seems sort of modern.

I have no idea Mike. It's sold as repro.
I'm still in mock up mode here right now, so we'll see what happens..

Good decision to go with a Falcon. I don't think that car can handle anything hot, and you will have more fun. For
the belly-tank cars I built I used Falcon II and III motors, and even with the high center of gravity, they can turn
some very respectable lap times. The trick is to get the rear tires right, not too sticky, and not too hard.

Jeff,
Have you had much experience with the H&R motors? Would they last for a 24 hour race?

No idea, Butch. Never had one before. It's the type of motor that fits the chassis best. I was looking at motors on ePay, and saw those. I needed something like that, so I bought them.
I'll see how it goes.

Thanks Jeff.
Check out the Piranha motors. They have a 21,500 rpm and a 25,000 rpm motor with ball bearings. They're inexpensive and will go 24 hours. I saw that 26,000 rpm on the H&R motor so I thought I'd ask.

The speed ratings of the falcon/Hawk is: direct drive-15K, Hk25- 25K; HkMB - 35K; HkRtr - 45K; Hawk-7 - 55K all FK130 form fit.
The H&R motors shown are FC130 form fit as are the Hawk-6 (55K) and Proslot 4000 series which also has a 25K and 35K version to snap into the FC-130 mounts, H&Rs slowest motor is the 'Jack Rabbit' at 14K which our plastic car club uses as an 'NC-1" clone.
All of the motors use a similar brush arrangement and can last a long time if not abused.

Not AWD? Disappointing!
$$$ for both parts...
This reminds me of the 1/32 Proto Slot Kit 1967 STP Turbine that has been out of production for some time.
They also had a 1/32 Howmet TX (McKee) sports car kit and a 1/32 Lotus 56 (Indy) / 56B (F1) kit available some years ago. These two might be found as NOS from some retailers.
