Looking to purchase some basic controllers durable and suitable for rental use.

Make sure you buy an electronic controller like a Professor Motor controller. Don't get one with a resistor like a Parma controller you'll be replacing resistors all the time. New racers and kids have a tendency to hold the controller at one speed and it burns up the resistor.

I believe DiFalco has a rental specific electronic controller

You're right, here they are. I use a DiFalco controller and would recommend them to everyone.

The Difalco rental controller is fairly robust. Hooking it up wrong burns out a thin white wire (shown in photo) that isn't difficult to replace.
