I have a visitor today.

Mark, an old, Tony's Hobby Lobby racer, a prominent 60's, Chicago area raceway.

Along with a real nice La Cucaracha, and Competition Asp, he had a nice trio of Dynamic cars, a Bandit, a Super Bandit, and a primo Harvey Aluminum.

He also had a couple cool,clean, repro Shinoda Jaildoor cars, he said he bought when he lived in California.

Possibly off the iron of 124 hemi.

I'll have to retake some photo's , next time he is in.

I accidentally deleted the ones, with a couple open wheel cars with silver wire, early rewound Mura Magnum 16D motors.

One had a gold plated chassis, he thought was a production item, and the other, a half Dynamic, half scratchbuilt chassis, with a cool torsion front end, holding ball bearing front wheels.

The Shinodas do look like 124hemi's work. He's had a few other Shinodas on eBay since the first of the year & the chassis do look similar to these.

Bill,Mike, that is exactly what I thought, this is Daniels (124 hemi) work.  You are correct gentlemen.

This is a 124hemi car. Daniel does such a nice clean build. just wish he would use period motors.

Very clean Dynamic trio Mike, thanks for sharing. I am still looking for a nice super bandit body so I can finish mine.

 

I thought the Harvey was sold as a kit with the GE motor, did it come this way too?

I had a nice talk with the gentleman. We have a lot of the same cars we built in the 60's. I ran a lot of Dynamics

chassis, most of which currently have the guide flag eye broken off. If this guy starts coming around, I might get

enthused to locate some replacement front tongues and get those up and running. (I currently have a few that I

bring to Swiss' from time to time, including the Harvey Aluminum car)

124 hemi should buy a 10 pack of those Russkit 22's that are on Ebay.

They are only about $2.19 each, in 1966 $$$'s. Lol

Mark said it still had the box for the Harvey Aluminum.

It looks like at least one version came with a 26D.

Would a GE motor even fit under one?

Interesting. My Harvey Aluminum Special does not have the drop "iso" front tongue, and came with a 36D motor (now a K&B Bobcat).

I know I bought it as a kit, the only Dynamics kit I ever bought. Different front wheels, too, but I might have changed them way back

then. It also has the flying model airplane tires mounted on the wheels Cox sold for that purpose.

Thanks Mike. I should know this. It is the Mirage that came with the GE motor not the Harvey.

 

The Russkit 22s would be perfect, and there seems to be an endless supply.

This is my car as it sits today. I ran this car a lot locally, and it went through a few changes. It was the only Dynamics

kit I ever bought, and started me on the long run of Dynamics chassised cars I built. The motor is a Bobcat, one of

the several motors I tried in this car. If you look closely, you can see the the chassis is actually the one for an end-

bell drive motor. The toung and part of the motor box are cut away to clear the plastic enbell. The motor bracket

is hogged out for the bushing holder, and the motor id held in by a piece of brass wire tied into the groove intended

for the c-clip. The front wheels may not be original, but are defintiely Dynamics. Probably a larger diameter. The rears

are Cox, as is the larger crown gear. The body is a replacement I believe I got from Dave Fiedler long ago, The original

was missing the entire nose when I decided to resurrect this car about ten years ago.
