Bill, as requested here are pix of my Womps, old and newer, and related (Riggen home set cars that I race, American Line Sprints Plus, etc)

notice the vintage 16D motor in the chassis with the orange F1 body. Are the two F1s the first two Womps? The silver one is the March F1 car I believe. The three Womps (bottom photo) on the left are as purchased new, the two in the back on the right were added bodies (? not sure, been a long time!), the two F1s are as purchased used. Sand down some old rears and back to the track they go!

I saw your other thread first, so responded there. :laugh2:  I don't recall when the F1 bodies came out. My guess would be they weren't the first womps out. There is a TX company, whose name I forget, but I think the owner posts on here, that makes several F1 bodies tor womps. There's a home/club group (Smith Speedway) on the other side of NH that run several womp classes on a flat oval, but nothing in the area I live. Thanks for showing the photos of your cars.

I bought Parma Womps with open wheel bodies back in the 80's, when I built my first track.

Fellas,

Not to be a wise guy but there is a 1/32 scale Racing Forum here on Slotblog. Maybe it would be a good idea to have this discussion on Womp-Womp World so others can contribute as well.

I know there's lots of Womp stuff out there waiting to change hands and some of us may have a few things up our sleeves as well as lots of knowledge on Womps and Womp racing.  :) :) :)

I have some thoughts on the subject myself but I want to see who else chimes in on a Womp Forum.

Pete- The #70 car is the infamous "Steve's Racers" chassis, whose rebuild by Pablo was detailed in this thread: http://slotblog.net/...-racers-refurb/ - The body was painted by Mr. Noose, and the motor was done by Mr. John Havlicek. The chassis was an eBay find, like a good portion of the cars I have.

The #10 car is a Champion chassis from eBay with a Noose painted body, once again.

The next pic is of the chassis of my Pablo restored Mini Wheels car, whose rebuild was detailed in this thread: http://slotblog.net/...ghtmare-refurb/ - Pablo did everything; the chassis, body, tires. I THINK Jairus painted the interior...

The #41 car is another eBay snag - pretty thick body, Dynamic Dynaflex chassis w/ a GE motor. Silicone rears. It gets a little tippy on the turns, so one day, I just might put some lead on there somewhere. The driver's head came unglued, so now it just rolls around the cockpit. Funny.

The green car is yet ANOTHER eBay find. Pittman 6001 motor. Runs well, I just need to fix the tires.

If I get a chance tonight, I will take some other pics.

I'm glad you enjoyed the cars.

another great night with the C.A.R.S. Vintage Slot Car Club. This time we track tested a variety of cars on the two first floor tracks vs our usual time spent in the loft on The Red Lightning, our "home track" for well over a decade, pushing two decades? Pete L. would know.  Looks like the Womps liked the smaller track on the right (I forget the name of that track?), so a race is in the works!   And a new vintage slot car friend came by: welcome to Peter Horvath, and what a great vintage box full of beautiful vintage cars as well. Read above and you see many of the Slotblog builders and painters names associated with his cars. Several of our club members have also had work done by Slotblog members: painted bodies, chassis built, motors rebuilt/built, etc. After all, we are one big (vintage) slot car family here, right?

Thanks again to vintage club founder Pete L. for all of his photos and club night report. Hope to see more of those out there, like Peter Horvath, that own/collect/build vintage slot cars- at one of our many vintage events. The more that show up: the more fun to be had!
