Effective immediately: Due to a shortage of the popular DTM Mercedes body, The Red Fox and Mid-America DTM Audi bodies are approved for competition. These bodies will be allowed at the August 10 FSCS race at P1. I have it on good authority that these new bodies are on a par with the current Mercedes body.

Apparately, the current Mercedes bodies wont be available for about 1 month or more.

Here are pics of the new approved bodies:

Dale shows the correct part numbers below. Mid-America 963 and Red Fox #RFAUDIISRAPROD.

There is already a Red Fox Audi on the approved body list.

In regard to Mid America DTM bodies, I didn't see an Audi body on their website (slotcar1 com), but they do have a Mercedes and a BMW.  Are those two bodies  now approved?

I got all this information from Marcus. You will have to check with him.

I talked to Marcus.

He said the newly-approved RedFox Audi body is a 2019 version.

He also said that Mid-America does make an Audi DTM body.

I may be making an assumption as to whether it's the newly legal body or not, but Mid-America #963 is an Audi DTM body.

I will pick up one of these bodies tonight and post a pic tomorrow. The body that I have in mind is not the one pictured above. The body that I will pick up tonight has 4 vertical fins at the rear wing with the interior fins set out close to the edge fins.

We will get this matter worked out even though it seems that we don't know what we are doing. That is why I like part numbers.

By your description that sounds like this one, Mid-America #960, which is a BMW. We tried it in off-season testing for the OCC and it performed as near a match to the existing family of GT1 bodies.

Justin, you nailed it! ----> EDIT: the body that Justin posted is the 2019 version of the Mercedes. The problem in approving this body is that there is no rear detail, such as, tail lights or a definable bumper. The trim line in the rear is about 1/4" below the top edge of the rear wing. I will propose on the directors site to approved this body, but with a rear trim line of 25mm below the top edge of the rear wing.

Change body rules 3 days before we race

Hey Terry, because of the Mercedes body is not available at distributors for the next 30 days we added 2 similar bodies. In my opinion this is not a rule change!

I agree with Marcus. Adding 2 new bodies to relieve a shortage is not a rule change. It is my belief that these 2 new bodies are not a game changer. But someone is welcome to prove us wrong.
