This has been getting fine tuned over the last few weeks and it is now ready to be released. The new Dominator Snake F1 chassis! Lots of cool things happening here. I am going to suggest to all builders to download the tutorial as it has some suggestions to help with the assembly especially installing the pin tubes.

Attached File  SNAKE tutorial.pdf   530.62KB   242 downloads

Perhaps the biggest is the one piece motor bracket with 7/32" axle tubes supports! This is one beefy piece and also has a place to insert a 3/32" piano wire at the rear of the bracket. For those that want to save .3 grams I will be including a pair of 1/16" wheel collars that can be placed inside the holes for the 3/32" wire and a .062" wire can be used instead.  I tried both of these configuration during testing on a Gerding King and lap times did not change nor did I notice a change in driving.

The center weight will be adjustable front to back or removable. The weight can be held in with 1/2" body pins. The tubing for the center weight will also give the driver the adjust-ability of changing how/where the body is mounted to the pans. I did test pinning the front of the body further back but did not notice a change in lap times. The car seemed more consistent utilizing the original forward body mount. I did not have a chance to test moving the rear body pins forward but that will be done towards the end of the month.

The pans are notched to reduce friction and vibration along the main rails.

The ready to race weight bring this in at 98.5 grams with the center weight. Removing the center weight will save 5 grams which I'm sure the west coast racers will like.

Price of this new chassis kit is $72 plus shipping.

Here are a couple more detailed shots of the motor bracket with the 3/32 wire installed.  Of course also a shot of a completed car.

Thank you Tim.  I ran some laps with it at Palooza and it was working very good.

Some additional tuning tips, the body likes to be 1/8" ahead of the guide (based on a Red Fox guide).  This design like the body a little further back than on the FANG.

Another great start to NERR Series yesterday with racing at Speedy's Fast Lane in Solvay, NY.

In F1 the Snake debuts with 1&2 finishes. I took the win with Dan Wiegand in second with his Dominator RTR Snake.. I TQ'ed with Gavin Seeley qualifying 2nd with his RTR Snake.

Thanks to everyone who ran Dominator chassis.

The Snake dominates at the NERR event held at Modelville Hobby on January 25th. Congrats to Ernie Lachance winning the C-main with a Dominator RTR Snake and Peter Lentros 3rd. In the B-main Dan Wiegand grabs 2nd. In the A-main Gary Clinton Jr. destroyed the old track by 9 laps with 333 laps. I finished a half lap back in second.

Gary also obliterated the previous qualifying record of 4.20 with a 4.04!

Thanks to everyone who ran Dominator chassis and RTR's at the event.

Results from NERR on 9/26/2020

In F1 4 of the 6 top qualifiers used snakes!  Congrats to Gary Clinton Jr. taking 3rd with a Dominator built Snake chassis.  I grabbed 2nd and the F1 series win using the Snake all season.

Thanks to all the racers who choose to run Dominator Chassis.
