Mike, that will clean up to be a clean looking car. Low mileage and great that it has the factory decals.  Congratulations, well bought.

The rear track has been widened? I can check mine if you care?and give you the correct spacer width.

Would be nice to find the stock wheels also.

Would love to see the Cukras motor when you have time. Lucky dog.

I bet your rear wheel spacers are correct but the wheels have the wrong back spacing, as I am sure you know.

Here is a pic of mine for reference.

Yes, when I Googled Dynamic Bandit, and hit Images, the width on the rear track was all over the place.

On some, it seemed fairly reasonable, but some were also real wide.

The rear tires on this car are most likely not original.

If you check yours and they are the same as this its likely they are stock. Finding the Wheels with the deep inside dish, can be a challenge.

The spacers are stock.

The rear tires are not.

They don't have any dish/offset, on the inside.

The rear track is a whopping 3.700".

It reminds me of the late 60's, when I told the owner of B & C Hobby, a guy was running on the back track, with a red polypropylene, 1/16th(?) Corvette, toy body, attached to a typical Cox 36D chassis, with that perforated brass strip.

"If he's taking up 3 lanes, he's got to pay for 3 lanes".

My comment, "The motor appears, like the car, to be bone stock." was not 100% accurate.

Regardless, the tires while the correct diameter, were dry rotted and useless.

When I get the time, I'll probably convert it, temporarily, to a restomod, like the Champion 601 powered, Dyna-flex Ferrari, shown next to it in the below pic.

It runs fabulous with set screw, narrowed JK rear tires, a straight axle, modern gears and a Jet flag.

Mike,

Nice Bandit!

I am trying to put my own one together and as usual getting the parts together is always the first task.

Could you or Matt show the Bandit from the underside? I need to get the tongue right.

What is the wheelbase as well to ensure I get it right?

Thanks!

There just some sort of generic threaded rim.

IMO, not worth doing, since they make the rear way too wide.

Thanks for the generous offer.

Maybe I will take you up on it when I can find something more appropriate.

Swiss,

The proper rubber is gray foam on the rear, the rear wheels have the same "hub caps" (can't think of the right word, not inserts but they are part of the wheel)...those rear "wheels" are the same as the fronts just wider by 2-3x.

David, notice the guide tongue is one casting with axle mount.

Axles are special for this car also. Notice short threaded portion.

Yeah that special front guide tongue is a deal breaker since I have never seen one sold separately!

Might be hard to get around properly!

What is the wheelbase and also the measurement from the center of the front axle to the center of the guideflag hole?

What about these wheels?  They are set screw, fit the threaded nut on the outside of the same axle.
Even the wheel pattern matches the fronts.

Those axles with the short threaded end were intended for the set screw wheels. Using them for

thread-on wheels makes the track too wide.

Not that rare actually.  The front frame was used on their RTR cars too.  Keep your eye out for a Ferrari 330 David.

Well in the meantime, I have eyeball engineered this solution.

My RTR's are not always completely "authentic" as I always use Silicone-Foam rears for runners!

I also am using La Cucaracga needle bearing fronts with my own spacers the best I can do.

Don't yet have a body or the special body mount, but all in due time. When I can get the authentic parts I will update!

Yeah I am also using a Jetflag!

David, the wheelbase is 3-7/8"

By the way the rear wheels are 2-7/8" apart (not including the tires) so with a bit of tire over hang they would be close to 3" wide.

Hope this helps.

I am putting together a Super Bandit. Any body out there got an extra Black Bandit body?

Resident Mold Master Gene Adams does make the Bandit repop. If the difference between the Bandit and Super Bandit is more than paint then who knows!
