The ISRA Slot Car World Championships are being held in Corby, UK. Oct 4-12, and it looks like they already have an excellent live streaming set-up working for the practice days.

The main webcam with a lap counter inset is HERE

I'll try to embed the video in the next post. If the embed isn't working for you, and you have to enter via the above link, don't forget to expand the video to full screen.

The live timing link is HERE.

This is a terrific live stream, with excellent quality (720P), great sound, perfect camera positioning, and a readable lap counter inset that doesn't obscure the track. Kudos to Chris85.

FWIW I'm getting some intermittent stalling in the video feed, but it usually comes back quickly.

I've tweaked the embed code for a larger window here at Slotblog. If it runs off the right side of anyone's monitor, please let me know.

There are some Americans competing in this event.

By no means is this a complete list, but I believe these racers are already in the house: Steve and Jonathan Forsyth, Justin Colvin, Randy and Walker McAnulty, and Joe 'Chubby' Salzman.

I'm sure this list will get longer as the actual racing gets closer.

Yeah, I had to click through that as well, but only the one time. Happens if you follow the link at the ISRA website as well.

I suspect this was forced on them by the broadcast vendor for liability reasons if someone cursed loudly during the event. Of course, that never happens at a slot car race... right?

I've not seen any visual content yet that would qualify to be only for mature audiences... but I keep hoping!

There are a lot of Americans there in an effort to secure eligibility for the worlds in the US next year. Looks like we are well-represented.

Good luck to all.

They will be voting on who gets the Worlds in 2021 at this meet. All the members there will vote. It will be the US or Brazil. Hope we get it here at SpeedZone NJ.

The organisers need to put a short Perspex wall up behind the left hand monitor, to stop all those cars from flying off onto the floor. :(

By Steve Deiter's post, that indicated that he totally missed this thread, a pin on it, for it to always appear on top, when you hit "View New Content," seems like it would be a good idea, if possible to do.

In the meantime, with the ISRA Worlds being one of slot racing premier events of the year (if not the premier event) I'll try to ttt this thread, at least, every morning.

160 racers total, in this team event. Very impressive.

The track seems to be humbling the racers, with quite a few of the stars, like Tonda and Janis Nabokins, pretty far down the list, after qualifying.

The big surprise that I noticed was the USA's Tim Hould, and his partner, a super-impressive 18th fastest.

Is there a reliable site that is putting up links to the Race Results in a timely manner? The Live Timing and Stream are nice, but unlike Ustream, they don't save and post the Results when they're offline. Anyone?

I found the first set of Race Results here. It just took a little digging.  http://www.isra2019.co.uk/teams_race.php#

They have run the 15 heats, and the U.S. drivers making it to the final 24, were Casey Scott, Paul Gawronski, Jonathan Forsyth, and after qualifying about 60th, teenage phenom, Justin Colvin, finished with the 4th highest heat total.

If you haven't tuned this in yet it is worth a look.  Young/old and male/female slot racers from around the world.  Cool stuff.
