Can someone let me know the preferred setup (tires, gears, pan material, guide height)? I'd like to "arrive and drive."

Bucky, I am in the process of moving to Ohio and all of my slot car equipment is in Ohio, but maybe I can help here. In Nascar, the RTR Titan body is dominating this year. A Mossetti chassis with the heavy or medium weight steel pans seem to work great. Gear the JK RH motor at 13:36. Tires ? If there is enough glue and built up rubber, a small hub treated tire might work.

In LMP, the RTR Orca body is dominating. gear 13:36. Mossetti chassis with aluminum pans. Small or medium hub treated JK tires. I have won with a small hub on the left and medium hub on the right.

In DTM, I have won using an old JK X25 chassis. Again, small or medium hub treated tires. Both the Hawk 6 and Hawk 7 have won races this year and last year. Gear either at 12:36 or 12:37. Run the Mercedes body.

Guide spacing: setup the guide spacing same as you do for Pinellas Park. 0.035" braid depth.

Disclaimer: The P1 guys have been having a lot of success this year with the small hub Alpha soft wonder. Be prepared to run this tire. I was told that the track was cleaned and re-glued 2 weeks ago. I doubt that much rubber has been built up since then. Possibly, small hub Kelly's will work????? Maybe this is not much help. Sorry.

I agree with Doc's advice.

I only run Mossetti Defender and Striker chassis these days.  For any given class on any given day, sometimes the Defender is a tick faster, sometimes the Striker is.  I have aluminum, light steel and heavy steel pans for both Defenders and Strikers.

Regarding DTM, the first combination I'll probably try is a Striker with light steel pans and Alpha soft wonder.  This has worked in the past but I'll be prepared to try different tires and heavy pans.

I hope Dale wins, maybe that will be a confidence booster and race at a Eddies.

Mike wants a head count in order to provide food and drinks.

I should be there at 9am, and based on what Ed said, he believes a few others from his track will make the trip across the state. Hopefully there is a good turnout for this one.

Mike might not see this thread so if you'll be there, remember to use one of the methods he listed (Facebook, e-mail or phone).
