So far we've got 10 teams signed up for the Enduro coming up this month on the 26th.  Some teams still to be named and a few drivers to be finalized......

                  1)     TEAM TRUJILLO          Duran Trujillo,  Henry Trujillo,  Alex Freund,  Bill Vanderziel

                   2)     HI TECH                       Sam Rackham,  Tim Hould,  Rick Linn,  James Grinstead

                   3)     AUTORAMA                  Marco Carvalho,  Jim Lane,  Tom Schiavo

                   4)     MAGARAMA                 Mill Conroy,  Phil Nyland,  John Cukras,  Bryan Warmack,  Nesta Szabo

                   5)     OLD SKOOL                 Dale Yamashita,  Dennis Samson,  Gary Donahoe,  Mike Reese

                   6)     INNOVATORS               Jerry Johnson,  TJ Albu,  Mark McVittie,  Bob Ricca

                   7)     V TECH                         Tim Wilkins,  Chuck Vaughan,  Roy Lievanos,  Bill Taylor

                   8)     TEAM FOSTERS           Earl McCutcheon,  Dennis Rios,  Mark Wampler,  Tim Neja

                   9)      DEAD POOL                 Charlie Nelson,  Don Haase,  Mike Kravitz,  Tom Eatherly

                  10)     To be named                 Doug Jacks,  Taylor Jacks,  Ryan Smith

Tech as usual will begin at 9 AM sharp and we hope to get the race started no later than 9:30. The F1 race follows the Enduro and we need to keep things moving along smartly and for the last 4 years we've never had a problem!  Many thanks to all the racers for helping to keep things running smoothly and on time!   :good:

Same format as last year with Concours determining the lane choice for the top 3 and the computer picking the rest. 12 minutes on each lane, 2 times through 8 lanes so the race is technically 3 hours and 12 minutes long.  Lane changes will again be 1 minute and 15 seconds and working on the cars will be allowed during the change over.

We will again attempt to keep track calls to an absolute minimum. If several cars are off on the floor but are easily within reach of marshalls there will be NO track call. However if one car is buried in a totally inaccessible spot, a track call will obviously be allowed.  Under the bridge will also be a track call.  We've never had any issues in the past with excessive track calls and it seems when things get going and everyone settles in there are very few offs.

A quick rundown of the simple NASCAR rules. Basically, the cars are Retro Coupes but with a 4 1/2" wheelbase and this will be checked at tech. .812 rear tires with .050 clearance and .750 fronts with .015 clearance and a maximum width of 3 1/8".   Legal bodies will be limited to the Mercury Cyclone, the JK Products B125B Chevy and the B126B Ford and all bodies must be .010. The maximum rear body height with spoiler included is 1 9/16" and spoilers can be as wide as the body.  All cars must have interiors that fully connect the windows and no part of the chassis may be seen when viewed from above.  All cars must have 3D drivers with shoulders and arms and the drivers head must be no lower than the windows and must be seen when viewed from the side.

As usual, teams can be made up of 3, 4 or 5 drivers and there is no rule governing driving time or driving order and teams will be left to determine this as they see fit.

                          P1180017.jpg

Pictured here is a JK Ford with the maximum rear end height of 1 9/16" including spoiler when measured on a test block.  Keep in mind that if you mount the JK bodies with much of a rake you will be very close to the maximum legal height and no added spoiler will be allowed.   The rear on all 3 bodies will be allowed to have the rear ends cut out as pictured.  Interiors must completely cover the chassis when viewed from above and the drivers must be 3D and the drivers head must be no lower than the windows and windows may not be cut out.

As with all of the other SCRRA classes the use of weighted guides is NOT allowed.  More to follow shortly.......

The SCRRA has been staging this very successful event for several years now with the Boola Bash in October and this month will mark it's 5th annual running. Once again 10 teams and nearly 40 drivers have signed up for the 3 hour and 12 minute race.  Here is a very quick summary of past results.....

2015, its first year, saw 10 teams entered and a very close race with the top 4 teams within 43 laps of each other! "Hi Tech 2" ( Ben Cervantes Sr,  Ben Cervantes Jr,  James Grinstead)  took top honors with 2429 laps but "One Adam 12 LAPD" hounded them the entire race and was the surprise of the day only 25 laps back!  "Hi Tech 1" was only 5 laps behind in 3rd while leading much of the race until body problems cost them any chance of victory. "Team Burro" ran a steady race to 4th only 12 laps back followed by "Team Trujillo" and "Pink Weenies".

                                                                RESULTS

                                                    1)   Hi Tech 2                2429 laps

                                                    2)   One Adam 12         2403

                                                    3)   Hi Tech 1                2398

                                                    4)   Team Burro             2386

                                                    5)   Team Trujillo           2304

                                                    6)   Pink Weenies         2292

                                                    7)   Foamy 2                 2278

                                                    8)   Jet City                   2191

                                                    9)   Innovators              2087

                                                   10)   Music Police          1001

In 2016, 9 teams were entered and once again the "Hi Tech" teams were considered the favorites but "Team Trujillo" (Henry Trujillo,  Duran Trujillo,  Bill Vanderziel,  Alex Freund) started slowly and just kept running faster and faster and ended up a convincing winner with 31 laps on 2nd place "Hi Tech 1" with a lap total of 2364 laps. The highlight of the race was undoubtedly the race for 3rd.  Going into the last heat "Innovators" and "Hi Tech 2" were separated by about a lap and battled it out the entire heat with "Innovators" just holding onto 3rd when the race ended!  "Zombie Zymphony" was 5th and "Team Burro" was 6th.

                                                                   RESULTS

                                                      1)   Team Trujillo               2364 laps

                                                      2)   Hi Tech 1                    2323

                                                      3)    Innovators                 2228

                                                      4)    Hi Tech 2                   2228

                                                      5)    Zombie Zymphony     2121

                                                      6)    Team Burro                2090

                                                      7)     LAPD                        2007

                                                      8)     Orange Crush           2006

                                                      9)     Jet City                     1986

In 2017 with 10 teams once again, with the usual favorites, the "Hi Tech" teams and "Team Trujillo", "Hi Tech 2" (Ben Cervantes Sr,  BenCervates Jr,  Craig Corriea)  became a repeat winner with a flawless run that saw them shatter the track record for laps with 2500! The highlight of the race was the battle for 2nd that went down to the last lap. When the power was turned off "Team Burro" just crossed the lap counter and "Old Skool" was just feet behind!  "Team Trujillo" was a close 4th followed by "Hi Tech 1".

                                                                 RESULTS

                                                      1)    Hi Tech 2              2500 laps

                                                      2)    Team Burro           2450

                                                      3)    Old Skool              2449

                                                      4)    Team Trujillo          2431

                                                      5)     Hi Tech 1              2407

                                                      6)     Music Police         2275

                                                      7)     Team AFX            2171

                                                      8)     LAPD                    2147

                                                      9)      Innovators            2021

                                                     10)     Team V-Teck        1612

And last year the final results had Team Trujillo on top again with a new lap record total of 2526 laps breaking the old mark of 2500, set in 2017 by Hi Tech 2!!   Great run again by Hi Tech 2 to podium again and a super effort by Team Autorama to podium in their first ever run!!

                                                                   RESULTS

As everyone has probably heard, we'll be running a SECOND Nascar Enduro in November with the SAME cars being used at the Boola Bash but with a completely different racing format.  Conceived by 2019 Checkpoint Cup Can Am winner and Slot car enthusiast Marco Carvalho it will start with teams qualifying on the drag strip!!.....and running all 3 BPR tracks, the Kingleman, the King track and finally the Flat track!   :good:

  Awesome looking car Tim!!

I've been asked a few questions about rules and procedures for the Enduro.  As with all the SCRRA races only one car can be used during the race and changing of complete cars is not permitted.  Any and all parts may be replaced other than the chassis and body and obviously the chassis and body can be repaired.

All the usual tech stuff,  4 1/2" wheelbase and 3 1/8" wide.  .812 minimum diameter rear tires with .050 rear clearance and .750 fronts and .015 clearance.  Bodies and interiors must completely cover the chassis and tires when viewed from above.  Maximum height of body and rear spoiler is 1 9/16" measured on a test block.

Other than rear tire wear all cars must remain legal during the race. If someone thinks a car is running illegally just inform the race director and we'll check it out.

   One week to go!!  :victory:
