This race was the second to last of our 2019 season. As most know by now, I had to leave and go home after a very bad vertigo episode. When I left on Sunday morning it was looking like a thin turnout and it fact it turned out to be our lowest ever at Motown and the lowest for NorCal Retro in general in many years (perhaps the lowest ever). In fact, there were only five racers and none at all from the home track. I got pictures emailed from Gene but have no details to post so I'll put up the results and the car pics and pretty much leave it at that.
The racers were Randy Keil and Richard Matthews from FTH and John Wilbur, Herman James and Mike Andrews from the traveling crew. Gene and Jen pitched in and made sure that at least one race got done so thanks as always go out to them and also for everyone's concern as I beat my pretty hasty retreat.
I don't know what to say about the light turnout considering that we started this year with a string of very strong, even record showings. Naturally no racers from Motown was a factor but there were a number of racers from both the FTH crew and the traveling group that have been regulars down here that were absent as well.
Our one race was Can-Am on the Hillclimb which looks like it was a 4X4 rotation.
Our season finale will be at FTH on November 17. Please take note of the pinned post in this forum regarding a correction to the race classes for that race. I hope to see a few more of y'all there.
