It would have been great to give this motor a try. I'm not surprised that motor submissions were suddenly closed.
I guess that wildly popular Professor Motor option is the only competitive option needed.

Roger, what's break-in on the Eagle MID 605 Hawk 7 replacement? For the Mockingbird I've seen to the effect of "no power supply break-in" but haven't seen anything on the Eagle 605.
Thanks

we just stick them in the car and go, i supposed you could run it at 4 volts for 30 mins. i would stay away from liquids

OK, thanks.
And one more...without the labels, how can you tell this motor apart from the Mockingbird other than watching them go down the straights? Peering through the can ports, they look same/same to my untrained eye. Is there some tell-tale difference other than the label and outright speed?
Thanks again

All you have to do to preserve the label is cover it with clear fingernail polish. Same as is done with the P/S seal.

As anyone with any experience in 1/32 racing knows, the rpm ratings are of very little practical use. The most that can be said for the rpm rating system is that the 40,000 rpm motors from a given company are generally faster than the same company's 30,000 rpm motors... VERY generally.
The "47,000 rpm" retro hawks routinely turn well past 50k, and many past 60k and the track times achieved are only loosely correlated thereto.
Just sayin'.

most motors are rpm checked at 12 volts. For mine, at least, the rpm we quote is the average of 20 motors tested at 12 volts rounded off. i'm not going to quote a motor at 18,230 rpm at 12 volt. its a 18k motor
